Principles of Good Practice

  • To abide by the ESOS act 2000 and the National Code
  • To provide ethical and professional consultancy service and advice to students, parents and education institutes on study opportunities in Australia
  • To check on the reputation and status of the education institute before promoting them
  • Provide accurate and realistic counseling to prospective student including academic matters, total finances, living expenses, transport, insurance, books etc
  • Provide information on ability and   availability of student part-time work (i.e working a maximum of 40 hours per fort-night; work can be difficult to secure and cannot be guaranteed)
  • Provide information on limited number of scholarships available and the exact criteria to obtain them
  • Actively seek and promote professional development and keep themselves and their staff updated and informed on current policy and developments in their field
  • Advertise in an ethical manner and follow the “AAERI Advertising Policy” set by the association
  • Serve the institute / university and student with honesty and integrity
  • To carry out the pre & post enrollment services with students and their families categorized by the following:
    • Have a written contract (agreement) with transparent and upfront disclosure of services and related fee
    • Maintain confidentiality of student records, notes and client information and disclose any information only with a written consent from the student to any third party on a need to know basis
    • Must have a clear and transparent “REFUND POLICY” visible to ots clients
  • Must not charge a fee more than $500 from the student for any consulting service including visa guidance, lodge and courier charge
  • Must use only authorized material (including logos) from education institutes they represent and with whom they have concluded a written agreement.
